Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Posture Pal handles when you use the iOS or Android app, and what stays on your phone. Posture Pal is made by Web Dev NC (“we”, “us”). A shorter privacy overview is also available; if the two ever differ, this policy applies.

What stays on your device

Your reminder schedule, quiet hours, pause status, appearance preference, onboarding status, check-ins, streaks, completed routines, and milestones are saved only on your device. We don't receive them, and you don't need an account. If your phone's system backup is turned on, your operating system may include this data in your own device backup.

Reminder messages from Firebase

The app downloads seasonal reminder text from Google Firebase Cloud Firestore so we can refresh the messages without an app update. This is a read-only download. The app doesn't send your settings, progress, or any personal information to Firestore.

Push notifications

Posture Pal includes Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver push notifications. To make that work, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Firebase Installations may create an app instance identifier and a delivery token for your copy of the app. These are technical identifiers used only for message delivery. We don't store them in our own database or use them to build a profile of you. Your scheduled posture reminders are created on your device and don't depend on these identifiers.

Google may process device information, app instance information, and IP addresses to deliver messages, as described in the Firebase privacy and security documentation.

Ads on Android

The Android version shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob. The iOS version has no ads and doesn't track you.

To serve, limit, and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may use your device's advertising ID, device information, IP address, approximate location derived from that IP address, and how you interact with ads. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form before any ads are requested. When your region requires it, you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

Learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

What we don't collect

Posture Pal has no analytics SDK, no account system, and no in-app purchases. It doesn't ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location, health records, or payment information, and it doesn't use your camera or microphone.

How long data is kept

Your settings and progress stay on your phone until you reset them or uninstall the app. We don't hold copies on our servers, so there is no retention period on our side for that information.

The Firebase app instance identifier and delivery token exist while the app is installed. Google keeps related delivery and ad data under its own retention rules, described in the Firebase and Google links above. If you email us, we keep the message only as long as we need it to answer you and keep a reasonable record of the conversation.

Deleting your data

To delete your check-ins, streaks, routines, and milestones, go to Settings → Reset progress. Uninstalling the app removes everything Posture Pal saved on that device, including its settings and notification identifiers. Because we don't keep personal information on our servers, there is nothing else for us to delete, but you're welcome to contact us with questions.

Withdrawing consent and changing permissions

Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. The only outside services involved are the ones described above: Apple for notification delivery on iOS, Google Firebase, and Google AdMob on Android. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect people or the service.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of personal information about you. Because almost everything Posture Pal uses stays on your device, you can exercise most of these rights yourself with the controls above. For anything else, email us and we'll respond within the time the law requires.

Children

Posture Pal is a general wellness app and isn't directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we'll look into it.

Security and international processing

We take reasonable steps to protect the app and its data, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Google and Apple may process information in countries other than your own, under their own legal and contractual safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when the app or the services it uses change. The date at the top shows the current version.
