Terms of Use
Posture Pal reminds you to check your posture and offers short routines. It isn't medical advice. It's free, the Android version shows a banner ad, and there's nothing to buy. Please also read the privacy policy.
1. Accepting these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Web Dev NC (“we”, “us”) about the Posture Pal app for Android and iPhone and the website posturepal.webdevnc.com. By installing or using Posture Pal, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app, and uninstall it.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Posture Pal. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
2. What Posture Pal does
Posture Pal sends posture reminder notifications on a schedule you choose, either at an interval or a set number of times per day. You can set quiet hours, pause reminders, follow guided routines made of timed steps, read short posture articles, and track your check-ins and streaks. You don't need an account, and your settings and progress stay on your phone.
Reminders depend on notification permission and on your phone's battery and background settings. Android, iOS, or your phone maker can delay or block notifications, and we can't control that.
3. Not medical advice
Posture Pal is a reminder and general wellness tool. It isn't a medical device, and it doesn't diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. The routines and articles are general information, not a personal exercise plan.
Talk to a doctor or physical therapist before starting the routines if you have back, neck, or joint problems, a recent injury or surgery, or you're pregnant. Read each step's cautions. Stop any exercise that causes pain, numbness, tingling, or dizziness, and get medical advice if it continues.
4. Ads
The Android version shows a banner ad served by Google AdMob. The iOS version has no ads. Advertisers, not Web Dev NC, are responsible for their ads and for anything you buy from them. How ads use your data is described in the privacy policy.
5. Price and purchases
Posture Pal is free and currently has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If we add paid features later, we'll update these terms and show the price in the app before you buy anything.
6. Acceptable use
Use Posture Pal only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, sell, or redistribute the app, except where the law or an open-source license allows it.
- Reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
- Interfere with ads, for example by generating fake ad views or clicks.
- Use Posture Pal in a way that harms other people, their devices, or the services the app relies on.
Don't do a routine while driving, operating machinery, or anywhere it isn't safe to stop and move.
7. Intellectual property
Web Dev NC owns the Posture Pal name, logo, app design, code, routines, articles, and this website, except for open-source components used under their own licenses. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Posture Pal on devices you own or control.
8. No warranty
Posture Pal is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will run without errors, that every reminder will arrive on time on every phone, or that it will improve your posture.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Web Dev NC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or productivity, arising from your use of Posture Pal or your inability to use it. That includes injury from doing an exercise in a way that isn't right for you.
Because Posture Pal is free, our total liability for any claim about it is limited to twenty-five US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll post a notice on this site before they take effect. If you keep using Posture Pal after that, the new terms apply.
You can stop using Posture Pal at any time by uninstalling it. We may change, suspend, or stop offering the app or any feature, and we may end your right to use it if you break these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of the mandatory law where you live.
12. If you installed Posture Pal from the App Store
These terms are between you and Web Dev NC only, not with Apple. Web Dev NC, not Apple, is responsible for Posture Pal and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Posture Pal. If Posture Pal fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Posture Pal or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or similar claims. Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling, or discharging any third-party claim that Posture Pal or your use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also follow the App Store's usage rules. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
13. If you installed Posture Pal from Google Play
Google Play's terms of service also apply to your download and use of the Android app. Google isn't responsible for Posture Pal or its content.
